1. Products Overview
The principle of a closed-loop stepper motor is to achieve accurate position and speed control by adding the position feedback encoders on the regular stepper motor.
The working principle of the closed-loop step motor is similar to the open loop stepper motor. The key difference is that the closed-loop stepper motor is equipped with the encoder, which is to monitor the actual position of the motor rotor in real time, and feedback this information to the controller. The controller compares the actual and target positions, and then adjust the motor movement to ensure that it works as expected. This closed -loop control method makes the stepper motor more accurately.
The closed -loop stepping motors have the advantages compared with stepping motors and servo motors.
Closed loop stepper motors are relatively quieter and less resonated than stepping motors. At the same time, they can achieve position feedback and control. The correction time is shorter, and no step loss during operation. In terms of energy saving, running stability, and driving higher loads, the closed loop step motor has more advantages.
Compared with the servo motor, the advantages of closed -loop motors are mainly: higher torque at low speed conditions, shorter correction time, accurate positioning, no swing when reach target position, smaller size and lower price etc..
The closed-loop stepper motor is widely used in various precision instruments, machinery and equipment and automated production lines due to its high accuracy, high efficiency, and high reliability.
